JOB DESCRIPTION
As the right hand man of the Group Finance Director, you are a key player in the optimization and continuous improvement of financial systems and of the finance department. Furthermore, you will be expected to:
- Provide input to Group strategy, set targets and define KPI’s
- Provide timely and high quality financial information to management and headquarters.
- Assist with ideas and recommendations for management reporting standards and processes.
- Be involved in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports, budget preparation and update of long term outlook as well as preparing any board materials.
- Facilitate appropriate understanding of the historical, current and forecast financial performance of the company through the provision of accurate management reports and information.
- Provide timely and high quality information and analysis to enable the monitoring of financial performance against targets, and implement remedial actions, as required.
- Provide timely and high quality financial information to external stakeholders.
- Develop recommendation for/administering country-specific policies and standards for tax and external accounting in cooperation with the Group Finance Director.
- Prepare external financial reports which comply with statutory reporting standards and requirements in cooperation with Group Finance Director.
- Handle direct communication with authorities (Tax etc.) in cooperation with Group Finance Director.
- Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis and make suggestions to improve profitability.
- Ensure risks are identified, assessed and managed, and further develop risk management framework.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
You have least 8 years progressive experience in accounting and/or financial analysis, ideally with 3 years of finance management. Self-directed and autonomous, you are able to communicate effectively and synthesise complex thinking processes into concise and simple statements.
An experience on the African continent is required for this position.
Previous experience with US GAAP and SOX compliance is necessary for this position.
